let it snow – Berry’s Winter Season Challenge

1. What is the December/Winter season like where you live?
   I live in Germany, and in my part of Germany it doesn’t snow as often as in other parts, lets say Bavaria. (I live in North Rhine – Westphalia – hope that’s spelled right!) Often our winters are wet/gray/muddy and warm-ish, about 3 – 10 C, but for the last few years we had cold winters, with temperatures are going as low as -15 C and a fair amount of snow. I have to say that I prefer snow/sun over rain/gray weather, but winter is definitely not my season, I prefer autumn and spring.
2. When you think of winter, what’s the first thing that pops into your head?
   Cold.
   Really, that’s it! I’m constantly cold, and I don’t like it. Though I have to admit that it’s getting a bit better now, maybe I’m getting used to it… as long as it’s not raining, I can deal with it. Though I’m still cold.
3. Have you ever played any extreme winter sports?
   Nope. I’m not into sports anyway, and you would have to drag my unconscious body somewhere with lots of snow, skiing and stuff, and I would hate you forever for it….. ok, I liked sledding when I was a kid.
4. What do you like most about this season?
   I do like christmas markets, sitting in front of a fireplace with a good book and a hot drink, cuddling on the sofa, candlelight. And walking the dog on a bright, sunny, snowy day.
5. Do you celebrate Christmas, Hannukkah, Kwanzaa or another holiday during this time of year?
   Yes we’re celebrating christmas – we celebrate the 24th with gifts and stuff (hubby, me and the dog) and tradionally eat potato salad with escalope. The 25th and 26th are spent with his/my family, and this year we will spent the 27th with my bestie. After those days, we always say we’ll never eat again…. 😀
